Question: I am concerned about my puppy squirming out of a harness while he it getting used to used to walking. Can he escape from this harness?
Answer: Don’t tie the dog from top but tie on chest. I tied my dog from top and he pulled back facing me and the harness slid off like a T-shirt and my dog squirmed out from legs. Chased him for 90 mins!!
That's why I won't buy anything like this again. He slipped out of one like it before. The one we have now clips to the front AND to his collar. Double safety. He still pulls but at least he's not going to free himself and run off!
I've had a dog for 10 yrs. Escape artist. Squeezed out of our fenced in yard... ended up running to the Autozone where a cop car was at. I saw the cop car (decided to use my resources) asked him if he seen a CairnTerrier-- he said, is that him in the backseat? I about died! This is the first harness he has not been able to wiggle out from. I had to adjust it to fit his chest measurements which was easy enough to do. It's still a bit loose on him- doesn't matter he can't wriggle out. Best thing is there's a triangular ring for the leash and a strip of heavy duty fabric that I can attach the leash to both of them-- in case one breaks. Getting another one for my small dog. Best money I ever spent on Amazon and got the security to be able to walk my dog without the fear of losing him..
Question: I don't understand the length measurement - usually it is from neck to top of tail, but the numbers from vendor are waaayyyy too short.
Answer: That's what I ran into with the one we ordered.Harness for a large Labrador, it was way to short from neck to rib cage. Fit around the neck was odd, it pulled which she didn't like and space between the front legs to short and narrow. Needed to be longer in length and girth of the dog. Even the dog in the picture looks uncomfortable, like it's fit is off. One good thing was it was well made and looked nice!
Question: We bought one and it arrived in a bag without any documentation. Is there a recommendation for How loose/tight it should be for your dog?
Answer: I always set my collars and harnesses to a snug fit (where you can slip two fingers between the straps / collar and your dog. From that point, I pay attention to my dogs mobility and whether or not they begin to develop irritation at some point. If so, I'd gradually loosen the device as appropriate.
Question: Can this harness be used with car restraints?
Answer: Hi there. Thanks for your interest in our dog harness. Yes, you may attach the dog car restrain or the dog leash to this harness There are two leash attachment points; one is on the front and the other is on the back of the harness. Thank you.
Question: Is the ring on the back made of metal ?
Answer: Yeah it's metal, I hit it with the metal clip on my dog leash it definitely sounds like metal
Question: Is it escape-proof for 6 lb. Maltese?
Answer: i am not sure but my min pin cant get out of it an she was able to get a mussle off in a flash
Question: The harness i ordered came with an extra black strap that has a snap-in attachment and 2 d-rings on either end. what is it for? thanks.
Answer: Hi, thank you for posting the question. I would suggest that you can contact our customer service with a photo of that extra black strap. Thank you.
Question: My dog has a 15" neck and 24" girth, and weighs 30 lbs (small brittany spaniel). is small the best size for her?
Answer: I believe so. We bought medium for our Frenchton because of his neck girth. Lots of adjustments on it to make it fit well. Overall great harness.
Question: How many inches per size?
Answer: I don't understand the question they tell you how to measure
