Question: Can you set a time for the crock pot to start

Answer: No, after you set the temperature (high or low) you enter the amount of time you want it to cook, between 30 minutes and 20 hrs, after which time it will automatically go to "warm" temp. But you cannot set it to start later in the day than when you first turn it on. 

I don't know if there is a delay start - I haven't had a need for that, and don't think I'd want raw food sitting in the crockpot for any amount of time if it wasn't cooking. The nice thing about this crockpot is that it automatically switches to warm at the end of the cook time, so I don't overcook my meal if I can't get to it in time.

Question: Can I fit a whole chicken in here?

Answer: Yes. You can fit an entire chicken in the crock pot. 

Question: I forgot to ask before. My previous slow cooker collected water around the lid from the heat & this made the lid rattle. Does this one do that?

Answer: It does not. There is a rubber seal around the edge of the lid. Hope this helps! 

Question: I broke the glass lid by dropping it. Can I order a replacement lid?

Answer: Amazon won't allow me to post an external address site URL here. However, if you go to crock-pot dot com and click Parts and Support at the top, enter the model number SCCPVL610-S, I found the lid for $12. You can buy the stoneware for $15. However, I tried the 'Add to Cart' link, but couldn't find the cart or a way to 'proceed to checkout'. So, I clicked on 'CONTACT FORM' button just to the right of those cart links. Lo and behold, in the upper right-hand corner was the 'My Cart' link. Looks like their website could use a little bit of work! ;-} Bottom line: lid plus shipping and tax was about $22 to my city.

Question: Does timer reset if there is a short power outage or do you lose all your settings?

Answer: The manual reads: "If there is a power outage, the display and lights blink when the power is restored. All slow cooker settings have been cleared and must be reset......"

Question: Where is this particular crock pot made? I'm trying to avoid crock pots made in China as much as possible.

Answer: The tag on the bottom of the unit says Made in Mexico. 

Question: Does it cook to quickly or get too hot? My current crock pot cooks way too fast so nothing is ever fall apart tender the way it should be!

Answer: Even on high, it warms up slowly and evenly, in a good way of course. When we make chicken or a roast, we usually put it on high for six to eight hours and it automatically switches over to warm so when dinner time arrives, the meat falls apart and the vegetables are soft, but not mushy. 

Question: Does it have a retractable cord?

Answer: Nope. But that would be amazing.
